Giverny

"On Monet's Porch" Watercolor, 2010, Marjorie Glick 22"x30"

This is my most recent watercolor bringing to mind Giverny, France. I was fortunate to teach a workshop there in 2009. This is the first WC in a new series of watercolors that I will begin later in 2011. Giverny is an amazing place. It is an intentional garden,  planned by Claude Monet, sited to be backlit at twilight with trellisses, walkways, and plantings  deliberately chosen so they could be painted. This is heaven for an artist!

Recent Watercolors from Stonington, ME

Here are some recent watercolors from a series I'm working on called The  Coastal Maine Landscape which I plan to exhibit somewhere in Maine at a future time. Does any one out there have any recommendations of a gallery that would be interested? These were all painted in the Stonington/ Deer Isle Area where I spend a part of every summer. Welcome to my blog, this will be a place where I will share news about my upcoming exhibits, recent work, and workshops.  Also, from time to time I will  give you a preview of works in progress and share with you the work of other artists who inspire me.
